Michael Bundt “La Chasse Aux Microbes”

Soul Jazz’s Deutsche Elektronische Musik comp showed up a few days ago and I cannot stop listening. So much amazing music I hadn’t heard before (like the Michael Bundt song—whoa). I can’t recommend enough if you’re interested at all in Can, Neu and the rest.
I also want to mention that Soul Jazz/Sound of the Universe are (obviously) an awesome label and store. They had accidentally overlooked my order at first, so they packaged the promo cds with the vinyl. Class act!

I fixed my turntable recently and it feels so good to be able to listen to records again.

Robert Rauschenberg on “Erased de Kooning”

It’s not a negation, it’s a celebration. It’s just an idea.

This is so wonderful. It really adds to the actual exchange that occurred between the artists, and relays the difficulty of removing de Kooning’s work. In that sense the process of erasing (that took a month to do!) is a strange commemoration, a unique way to be involved with the mark making of another great artist/peer. A very interesting way of having their works meet on one plane (or surface/piece of paper).

And to think O’Hara described him as enfant terrible of the New York School, hah!

Brian, Parker and Dan win. This song is amazing.
