Announcing City Limits Records: A Project by Ears of the Beholder and See the Leaves
My friend Robert and I met several weeks ago to discuss local music and community building, following an inspiring tip from our buddy Andy of Skeletal System. What emerged from this discussion eventually became known as City Limits Records. This will not be just another record label, but a series of exclusive compilations intended to help promote our local music scene and eventually those of other cities as well. Over time, we hope to build a catalog of collectable 12” vinyl time capsules representing the diverse creative energy of many musically rich communities across the map. Please visit our Kickstarter page to find out more about our inaugural compilation, City Limits Records Presents: San Francisco. We hope you are able to help us reach our fundraising goal.
Participating SF bands include:
Melted Toys
Young Prisms
Exray’s
The Soft Moon
Tim Cohen
Magic Bullets
Skeletal System
Kites Sail High
Fiveng
Sunbeam Rd.
Maus Haus
Phantom Kicks
The Sandwitches
This limited edition record will be pressed on color virgin vinyl with hand silk-screened jackets. We will also have a digital download available through Bandcamp. Did we mention the songs will be exclusive? Stay tuned for more info coming soon!

I partnered with Noise Pop Festival’s Pop Up Shop this year to throw an Ears of the Beholder Happy Hour Party with Space Ghost, Skeletal System, Kites Sail High and Yalls (Debut) at Fifty24SF Gallery (218 Fillmore St). The party is from 6-10pm on Wednesday Feb. 9th with visuals by my boy Chris Martz and free beer courtesy of Pabst Blue Ribbon. Space is limited, so you might want to purchase tickets in advance (only $5!). RSVP on Facebook. Hope to see you there!
